INDOMIE INDEPENDENCE DAY AWARD FOR HEROES OF NIGERIA
Nigeria is fortunate and indeed blessed to have young people with selfless nature of service and milk of human kindness flowing in them.
The future of this great country is secured with them as citizens. The impact of their bravery stands as an irrefutable endorsement of the
exceptional human ability. To this end. we at Indomie see a need to groom. recognize and reward these exceptional children in a big way.
In 2008. Dufil Prima Foods PLC (makers of Indomie Instant Noodles Indomie) out of the need to shine the spotlight on the Nigerian Child
created a unique Social Responsibility Initiative called Independence Day Award (IIDA) for Heroes of Nigeria. This award is to recognize
children who have against all odds exhibited extraordinary acts of bravery' in the face of danger/societal challenges which have sometimes
even brought them injury.
The award extols the exemplary accomplishments of children who have shown courage and determination in situations that ordinarily would
bring fear; it also encourages excellence, rewards merit and stirs in other children the act of bravery.
The Indomie Independence Day Award is a national event that draws entries and participation from all the geo political zones, especially key
cities in the country. Indomie Independence Day Awards holds in the month Of Nigeria's Independence, October.
up until now 40 heroic children have been awarded and rewarded for different yet outstanding acts of bravery. Last year to mark the 10th
edition of the award, 10 instead of 3 children were publicly celebrated and rewarded.
The recipients of Indomie Independence Day Award are rewarded with the sum of NI.OOO,OOO worth of scholarship among other monetary
donations given to them by guests during the ceremony.
